Can you Sync Workers with BuildOps?

Yes. BuildOps is the source of truth for your worker directory. The Worker Sync imports active employees from BuildOps into SmartBarrel and keeps their profiles up to date. You can run it on demand or let it run automatically.

Before you start

BuildOps must be connected (see: How do you Set Up the BuildOps Integration?).
You need the Edit Project Settings permission for BuildOps.

Sync workers

Go to Integrations > BuildOps > Workers.
Click Sync Workers.
Confirm when prompted. The sync is queued and runs in the background.

To keep workers up to date automatically, enable Auto Sync in the company settings.

Why didn't a worker sync?

A worker is skipped when:

They are inactive or removed in BuildOps. Only active employees import.
They have no phone number. A phone number is required to create a worker in SmartBarrel.
Their phone number is already in use by another worker in SmartBarrel.

Skipped workers show up as warnings in the sync log.

Read the sync log

After each sync, a log entry appears in the Workers logs table. Click Download to export the full log. The log uses three levels:

info: the worker was fetched, created, or updated successfully.
warning: the worker was skipped (for example a missing or duplicate phone number).
error: the worker could not be synced due to a conflict or system error.

FAQ

How often does Auto Sync run? On a recurring schedule once enabled. You can still run a manual sync at any time with the Sync Workers button.

Can I edit a synced worker in SmartBarrel? Mapped fields are locked by default so BuildOps stays the source of truth. An admin can turn on Unlock Fields to allow edits in SmartBarrel.
