How do you Sync Projects with BuildOps?

BuildOps is the source of truth for your projects. The Project Sync brings your BuildOps projects into SmartBarrel, where they can then be set up for cost code syncing.

Before you start

BuildOps must be connected (see: How do you Set Up the BuildOps Integration?).
You need the Edit Project Settings permission for BuildOps.

Import a project

Go to Integrations > BuildOps > Projects. The list shows the BuildOps projects available to import.
Click Import next to the project you want.
Choose how to bring it in:
- Import as new Project creates a new project in SmartBarrel from the BuildOps data.
- Merge links the BuildOps project to an existing SmartBarrel project.

Which projects can I import?

SmartBarrel shows BuildOps projects in these statuses: Accepted, Work in Progress, On Hold, and Bid. Projects that are complete, closed, or voided are not shown.

After import

A project you have already imported shows a green date badge in the Imported column and an Edit button in place of Import.

Open the project's BuildOps settings to configure:

Auto Sync Cost Codes to sync cost codes for the project automatically.
Use Budgeted Cost Codes to import only budgeted cost codes.

Admins can click Make Default Settings to apply the current settings to all new projects.

FAQ

Can I link a BuildOps project to a project I already have in SmartBarrel? Yes. Choose Merge during import and select the existing SmartBarrel project.

A project is missing from the list. Why? Only projects in the Accepted, Work in Progress, On Hold, and Bid statuses are shown. Check the project's status in BuildOps.
