How do you Set Up the Foundation Integration?

Setting Up the Connection

For each new Foundation Client

1. You need to create a dedicated user in Foundation
   1. Recommended username: "SmartBarrel" (consistent across all clients)
   2. Choose a password 
2. Needed for the integration
   
   1. Host — The hostname or IP address of the SQL Server running Foundation.
   2. Port — The SQL Server port. 
   3. Database — The name of your Foundation database.
   4. Username — The SQL Server username used to access the Foundation database. (Created in step 1)
   5. Password — The password for the SQL Server user.
3. Foundation Software configures:
   1. Write permissions to pending_time_cards table for SmartBarrel user

Your IT team or Foundation administrator can provide these details.

To connect the integration, follow these steps:

1. Navigate to the SmartBarrel dashboard and click Integrations in the left-hand sidebar menu.
2. Find the Foundation integration card and click Connect.
3. In the connection dialog, enter your Host, Port, Database, Username, Password
4. Click Connect. You will be taken to Company Settings where you can begin configuring the integration.
