This article explains the steps to download SmartBarrel app on your phone and learn how to clock in/out using the Mobile App.

- Maintain a reliable internet connection for optimal performance.
Setting Up the Mobile App:
Step 1. Download "SmartBarrel" from the App Store or Google Play. Ensure that you were given access to the Mobile/Kiosk
Download Now:
Step 2. The app will prompt you to enter your phone number to login. Once you enter your phone number, you will receive a verification code to complete the login process.

Step 3. Project List
You will see a list of all the projects that you can clock into/report on, there may be a filter applied so you would only see the job closest to you, depending on the Geofence settings. For more details, check the Mobile App settings here
Step 4. Clocking in on the Mobile App
Select the project that you are working on, once the project is selected, click on the "punch" option which will prompt you to enter your phone number, click "Enter" and take a picture of your face. The same process is used to clock out.
Step 5. If you are using a Kiosk Mode or iPad Kiosk, this feature enables you to have multiple workers check in/out using your device.

Step 6. After clocking in/out, you will receive a text confirmation on your phone indicating that your punch was successfully recorded in the dashboard.

Why doesn’t my project appear in the project list?
There are several reasons this may happen. The most likely one is that your phone is picking up a GPS location that's different from the project, which means you might be outside the area where you can punch in or out.
Check the GPS indicator (arrow
icon at the top right corner of the app):
- Green - High GPS accuracy.
You can clock in and have great accuracy on your GPS. - Yellow - Medium/low GPS accuracy.
You can still clock in, but your GPS location may not be very precise. - Red - Weak GPS signal.
You have weak GPS accuracy, hence the app won't allow you to clock in or out.
If your phone is not correctly detecting your GPS location, move closer to the project location, refresh the project list, and try again. Ensure your GPS is working and your phone has a good signal before trying again.
- Green - High GPS accuracy.

Why do I see an "Invalid User" error when logging into the mobile app?
This usually means that mobile access hasn’t been enabled for your account. Follow these steps to check:

Log into the SmartBarrel dashboard using a web browser.

Go to your user profile.

Look for the Mobile Access setting.

Make sure it is turned ON.
If you don’t have access to update this setting, contact your Admin or Project Manager onsite to enable mobile access for you.
