      How to enable Kiosk access for users

      This article explains the steps to set up SmartBarrel app access and configure Kiosk mode for users.

      Difference Between Kiosk Mode and Punch Mode

      When using the SmartBarrel application, users can select two distinct modes:

      Kiosk Mode

      • It allows multiple individuals to punch in or out using the same device without requiring them to log in and out.

      • Ideal for workplaces where employees share a common device, such as a smartphone or iPad.

      Punch Mode

      • Only the logged-in user can punch in or out on the device.

      • Ideal for workers using their personal smartphones.

      Things to consider:

      • Ensure GPS and camera settings are enabled on your phone or iPad.
      • Download "SmartBarrel" from the app store (Google Play or Apple Store).
      • Maintain a reliable internet connection for optimal performance.

       

      Setting Up the Mobile App:

      Step 1: Login to the dashboard and in the upper right corner, click on Company settings icon , and ensure the toggle for App option is enabled

       

      Step 2: In the company settings, customize the options you want to make available for users using the app.

      Step 3: From the Dashboard, navigate to the "Workers" tab on the left menu, select Worker that you would like to give Mobile/Kiosk access to, and verify that both the Mobile App and Kiosk Mode options are enabled.

       

      Note: If the "Enable Mobile App" option is toggled off, users may find an error message "Employee not found."

      If the "Enable Kiosk Mode" option is disabled, the Kiosk feature will not be available, and the worker will only be able to use their device in Punch Mode.

      If workers are located outside the designated geofence, they will not be able to view any projects in the device or application.

       

      Step 4:

      Open SmarBarrel App on your phone and select the project that you and your crew are working on. Once the project is selected, click on "Kiosk" button and type your phone number and press "Enter" a picture of your face will be taken instantaneously.

      Once that is complete, pass your device to the next person and have them enter their phone number in, and continue the same process for all workers in your crew.
